The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Know feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Branch keeping moving, preventing Know from controlling successfully.

Know seems to be working for a kimura but Branch defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Branch is refusing to be controlled, as Know sits in half guard.
Know looks to land a strike but Branch avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Branch has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Know is working away from the top position though.

Branch has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Know to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Branch is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Know pulls down on the head and he's put Branch to sleep! This one is all over!

Carioca feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Damiani felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Carioca is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Damiani is surviving well by controlling Carioca's body position as best he can.
