Jasrai looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Smithson is controlling an arm, preventing Jasrai from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Smithson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jasrai on the ground.

We've been told by Volkov's head coaches at Kushiage MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Volkov feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Sider sprawling to the canvas! Sider rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Volkov finish him?!
Alexei Volkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Horrible takedown attempt by Barnett or perhaps it was just good defense by Frye, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Buddy Barnett. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Barnett throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Frye's waist but Frye gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Barnett off to one side.

Frye lands a left and a right that send Barnett crashing to the mat, dazed. Frye thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
