Undercard bout

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Bishop (ranked 23881 p4p, 787 weight class) and Saville Clavet (ranked 6626 p4p, 687 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clavet throws a hook to the side of Bishop's head but Bishop sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Clavet has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Bishop throws a leg kick but Clavet sees it coming and moves out of range.
Bishop goes for a double leg but Clavet avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Clavet continues to drive forward.
Bishop slips under a jab.
Bishop has a takedown stuffed.

Clavet steps into range and cracks Bishop with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Bishop flops backwards and Clavet dives into his guard looking to finish!

It looks like Jake Bishop has been cut.

Clavet tries to stand but Bishop is controlling from the bottom.
Bishop is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Clavet is controlling him.
Clavet wants to stand and escape but instead Bishop has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bishop accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Clavet is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Bishop dives into side control.
Bishop is looking to take a break and control but Clavet is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bishop wants to stand but Clavet is controlling his arm.
Clavet is not content to let Bishop control the position.
Bishop tries to stand but Clavet is controlling his head.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Clavet pushes Bishop away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bishop gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Clavet is looking to get back to his feet here but Bishop is keeping cool and he's managed to take Clavet's back.
Bishop slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Caleb Miles (ranked 23420 p4p, 471 weight class) and Brian McConnell (ranked 4908 p4p, 365 weight class). Miles's entrance music is Drake - Started From The Bottom. A fine choice. Caleb Miles had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Miles swings for the body but McConnell moves out of range.
McConnell tries to counter with a clinch but Miles shakes him off and moves away.

Miles closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. McConnell did well to prevent Miles getting side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miles wants to pass the guard but McConnell is keeping the position.

McConnell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Miles doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but McConnell is tightening it up a little... Miles has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Miles reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Miles taps out! Nice BJJ there by McConnell!

A very excited looking Bjorn Lothbrok rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

Thatcher changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Januzaj tries to avoid it but Thatcher manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Januzaj to the ground. Januzaj escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Januzaj lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Januzaj swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mehdi Januzaj seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thatcher avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Thatcher has been working on his balance at Official UFC Performance Institute Training Center, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Januzaj.
Januzaj plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Thatcher to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Thatcher just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!

Duarte turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Duarte throws a lazy right hand but Shield sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Duarte dropped down on all fours and is barking in Shield's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Horder shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as MacNamara sprawls well. MacNamara wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Horder gets slowly back to his feet.
