Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heavy HeavyWeight (ranked 426 p4p, 46 weight class) and Ron Deadly (ranked 648 p4p, 0 weight class). Deadly is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bayou. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deadly throws a hook to the side of HeavyWeight's head but HeavyWeight sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

HeavyWeight lands a left and a right that send Deadly crashing to the mat, dazed. HeavyWeight thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Ron Deadly has been cut.
Deadly's coach down at Island Safe Space was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Deadly's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
HeavyWeight tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Deadly counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

HeavyWeight scores with a shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
HeavyWeight tries to clinch up but Deadly circles away and keeps his distance.
Heavy HeavyWeight seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
HeavyWeight tries to clinch but Deadly is having none of it.
Deadly looks like he wants to counter punch here.

A nice side step and Deadly releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

HeavyWeight closes the distance and pushes Deadly back into the cage.

That has opened up Ron Deadly's cut even more.

Deadly's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Deadly throws out a counter right but HeavyWeight avoids it with no problem.

Deadly swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
HeavyWeight takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
HeavyWeight takes a swing at Deadly's ribcage but misses.
Deadly steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from HeavyWeight.
HeavyWeight fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Deadly to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Deadly looks to clinch but HeavyWeight throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Deadly taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
