The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ramesha looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Ramesha postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Makkonen on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Makkonen doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Hunsaker closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hunsaker takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Tendo is trying to control but can't.

Tendo is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Hunsaker has taken his back.

Perkele avoids the head kick by Xyddddd.
Perkele just misses with a punch to the body.

Perkele throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Perkele looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Perkele stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

It looks like Zyd Xyddddd has been cut.

and Xyddddd counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Xyddddd misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Perkele.
Xyddddd fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Perkele manages to avoid it.
Perkele appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Xyddddd sizes up Perkele with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Xyddddd misses the jab.
Perkele throws a push kick but Xyddddd slaps the foot to one side.

and Perkele counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Perkele changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Xyddddd looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Xyddddd wants to get back to his feet but Perkele is dominant here and he's now got Xyddddd's back!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Perkele is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Xyddddd has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Perkele has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Xyddddd taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Perkele doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Kholin throws a lazy uppercut
and Voroshilov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kholin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Kholin misses with a looping left.
Kholin throws a looping overhand right but Voroshilov ducks down to avoid it.
Voroshilov has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Kholin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Voroshilov moves away.
Voroshilov moves out of range as Kholin strikes.
A swing and a miss from Kholin.
A telegraphed right hand from Kholin misses the target.
Voroshilov tries to work over Kholin's front leg with a kick but Kholin checks it.
Voroshilov needs to keep his hands up - Kholin had a free shot at his head there.

Kholin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kholin lands in his opponent's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kholin postures up and lands a big shot to Voroshilov's brow.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kholin's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Kholin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Voroshilov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kholin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kholin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Voroshilov's guard.

Kholin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Voroshilov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Voroshilov can do anything to dispel that myth.

After the fight, Mitsugu Takeishi was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
