The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assad throws a shot from downtown. Tripp moves away and avoids it.
It looked like Tripp wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Tripp throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Assad sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Assad throws out a loose jab but Tripp uses good head movement to avoid it.
Assad steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tripp.
Tripp throws a right and a left that Assad avoids nicely.
Assad shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tripp as he jumps to the side.

Assad closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Tripp seems a little lost for a moment, as Assad dominates the positioning.
You can see the frustration on Tripp's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Captain Gonza decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Mark Steve spoke after the fight, saying 'broke both my hands on that thick skull and played hell on any offense....and I aint much on defense.....'.
