The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marshall tries for a takedown but Schroder sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
It looked like Schroder wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Schroder stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Schroder wants it to stay on the feet.
Marshall has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Schroder is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Schroder shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Marshall's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marshall has his foot on Schroder's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Schroder works his way back into a safe position though.

Marshall taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Schroder doesn't care though - he's delighted!

A nice inside leg kick there by Lyttle. That's going to slow Barkley down.
Barkley uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lyttle.
Barkley throws a jab but it's blocked by Lyttle.
Lyttle connects with a good right hand that stumbles Barkley. Barkley circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Lyttle lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Lyttle lands a really nice looking cross but Barkley seems unphased.
Lyttle moves into range and connects with a jab.
Barkley misses with a looping left.
Lyttle throws a body shot but no joy.
Lyttle dips to his left and cracks Barkley with an uppercut!
Lyttle is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lyttle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Barkley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lyttle moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Lyttle is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Barkley fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Barkley, as that shot connected.
Barkley throws an overhand right that lands on Lyttle's shoulder, as Lyttle tries to avoid the shot.
It looked like Lyttle wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Barkley rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Lyttle cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Lyttle misses with an uppercut
and Barkley connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Barkley is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lyttle.
Lyttle connects with a good right hand that stumbles Barkley. Barkley circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

As Lyttle backs off Barkley throws a huge counter combo but Lyttle manages to avoid it all.

Lyttle cracks a nice hook into Barkley's ribs.
Lyttle scores with a kick to the midsection.
Barkley lands a slapping body shot.
Lyttle looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Lyttle jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Barkley throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
It looked like Lyttle was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Barkley shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Lyttle eats them both and turns towards Barkley to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Jamal Lyttle has been cut.

Barkley looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Barkley circles away from the clinch attempt.
Barkley connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Lyttle's hands.
