Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexander Volkovic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Antonio Machallas!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machallas shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Machallas is defended easily by Volkovic.
Volkovic tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Machallas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Volkovic fails in his attempt to clinch.

Volkovic closes the distance and clinches.
Volkovic lands a damaging elbow.

It looks like Antonio Machallas has been cut.

Machallas jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Volkovic walks away with a smile on his face. Machallas gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Alexander Volkovic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Machallas.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Machallas tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Volkovic just stands there and leans against the cage.

Machallas jumps guard but Volkovic stands there with Machallas around his waist. Machallas gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Parsons blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Escobar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Escobar wants to control from the top but Parsons keeps moving.
Parsons really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Escobar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Escobar uses his free foot to push down on Parsons's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Parsons.

Escobar can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Parsons is looking to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parsons is trying desperately to improve position.
