Sure feints a jab promting Zetsika to slip. Sure then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Zetsika slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Zetsika throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sure was covering up waiting for the punch and Zetsika finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brand throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kodjia counters with a left to the body.
Kodjia throws a sloppy head kick and Brand moves out of range easily.
Brand appears to be looking for a big counter.
Brand throws the left hand but Kodjia avoids the punch easily.

Kodjia drops Brand with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Brand looks back up at him and smiles so Kodjia waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Brand takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
The fighters circle, before Kodjia throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Brand's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Kodjia lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Franck Kodjia!
After the fight, Franck Kodjia was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Kapisi has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Cruz Jr is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Kapisi lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kapisi throws an overhand right that drops Cruz Jr like a sack of potatoes! Kapisi dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
