Undercard bout

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Monsanto (ranked 24367 p4p, 422 weight class) and Pablo Ignacio (ranked 7292 p4p, 405 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Monsanto might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Drain You - Nirvana. Pablo Ignacio will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ignacio swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Monsanto misses with an uppercut.
Monsanto lands a front kick.
Monsanto takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Monsanto throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Ignacio avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ignacio misses with a takedown attempt - Monsanto sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Monsanto tried to counter with a leg kick but Ignacio avoided it.
Ignacio keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Monsanto.
Ignacio cracks a nice hook into Monsanto's ribs.

Monsanto throws an overhand right that lands on Ignacio's shoulder, as Ignacio tries to avoid the shot.
Ignacio just misses with a punch to the body.
Ignacio ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Monsanto throws a looping overhand right but Ignacio ducks down to avoid it.
Monsanto lands with a straight right. Ignacio didn't see that one coming.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nice sprawl there from Monsanto as Ignacio shoots in.
A chopping leg kick lands by Monsanto.
BOOM! Monsanto lands a beautiful left hook that drops Ignacio. Ignacio tries to recover but Monsanto is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Ignacio lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

A less than humble Gabriel Monsanto misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Psa closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nomurokai did well to prevent Psa getting side control.

Nomurokai manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Psa keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Psa has hold of one of Nomurokai's legs. Nomurokai is fighting the takedown attempt but Psa gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Psa working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Nomurokai throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Psa escapes and throws Nomurokai's legs to the side, diving into side control!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Nomurokai seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Psa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Psa closes the distance and clinches up with Nomurokai, looking for a takedown. Psa pushes Nomurokai against the cage but Nomurokai circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Psa wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Nomurokai manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Gomez takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Twelve escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gomez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
