Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nasty Jones (ranked 3062 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ichiro Suzuki (ranked 4438 p4p, 193 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by All by myself anymore. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nasty Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ichiro Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Jones.
Suzuki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jones swivels and escapes.
Jones connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Suzuki's hands.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Suzuki feints the counter takedown.
Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jones swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Jones throws a series of strikes that have Suzuki backpedaling.
Suzuki shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Suzuki gets slowly back to his feet.
Nasty Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ichiro Suzuki.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Suzuki tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jones defends well and Suzuki ends up having to push Jones into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Jones is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Suzuki darts in looking for a takedown but Jones gets double underhooks and turns Suzuki into the cage.
Suzuki takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jones jabs Suzuki right on the nose. Suzuki blinks but takes it well.
Suzuki displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Suzuki needs to keep his hands up - Jones had a free shot at his head there.
Suzuki shoots in but no luck this time.

Suzuki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Suzuki walks into a stiff left hand from Jones.

Suzuki closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jones is looking to reverse the position.
Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position.
Suzuki slows the pace down.

Suzuki has hold of Jones's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Jones seems comfortable defending it but Suzuki has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Jones is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Jones is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Suzuki couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Pires closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pires lands in his opponent's guard.
Black really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pires. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Black bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pires's guard.


Black drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Black jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Black wants to control from the top but Pires keeps moving.

Pires working for a triangle but Black defends it easily.
Pires controls Black momentarily but Black frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Black in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Pires tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Black!
