PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Silva (ranked 1214 p4p, 157 weight class) and Chief Queef (ranked 2680 p4p, 306 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Chief Queef was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Manuel Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Queef!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Silva.
Queef is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Silva cracks Queef with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Silva misses with a body shot.
Queef feints the counter takedown.
Silva throws a lazy right hand but Queef sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Queef drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Silva defends it well.
Queef uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Silva.

Queef is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Silva knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Queef is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Queef frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Queef is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Silva to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Silva shrugs it off.
Silva is desperately trying to improve his position but Queef has a good base and remains in mount.
Silva has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Queef.

Queef swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Silva is now in Queef's guard. A big mistake from Queef there, giving up the dominant position!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Queef has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Queef has hold of Silva's hands but Silva slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Silva wants to stand but Queef is controlling his posture from full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Queef has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.

That was a close round but I would say that Manuel Silva will probably get the nod.

Queef has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Silva is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Queef.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Silva uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Queef has time to react.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
