PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Theo Richmond (ranked 2778 p4p, 285 weight class) and Sting Fire (ranked 2393 p4p, 249 weight class). Richmond comes to the cage accompanied by Exposing me . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Theo Richmond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sting Fire!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Eddie Farnsworth and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richmond misses with a lunging right hand
and Fire counters with a nice uppercut.
Richmond misses with an uppercut. Fire saw that one coming.
Richmond throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Richmond swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Richmond tries to clinch but Fire moves out of range.
It seemed like Fire was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Richmond. Fire does a little dance to reset his feet.
Fire throws a counter combo.
Richmond misses the shot to the body.
Despite the aggression on Fire's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Richmond ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fire moves away.
Richmond fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fire manages to avoid it.
Richmond scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Fire keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Fire wants to counter the offense by Richmond and move into the clinch position.
Richmond throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fire stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Fire counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Fire blocks the body kick.
Fire looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Richmond throws a body punch but Fire moves out of range.
Richmond ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fire moves away.
Fire tries to counter with a clinch but Richmond shakes him off and moves away.
Fire ducks under a wild hook from Richmond.
Good standup being displayed there by Richmond as he connects with a hook.
Fire slips under a jab.
Richmond is looking to wear down Fire with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

The fighters circling - Richmond throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Richmond throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Richmond throws a looping overhand right but Fire ducks down to avoid it.

Richmond looks to score with a jab to the body but Fire is just out of range.
Fire takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Richmond tries to clinch up but Fire circles away and keeps his distance.
Richmond sets himself, and Fire steps forward looking for the clinch! Richmond avoids it this time.

Fire steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Richmond.
A big left from Richmond misses.
A nice side step and Fire releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Fire has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Richmond finds it's way round the side to connect with Fire's head.
Fire ducks under a wild hook from Richmond.
As Richmond backs off Fire throws a huge counter combo but Richmond manages to avoid it all.
Richmond misses with a jab to the body

and Fire counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
A head punch on the inside from Richmond fails to land.
Fire connects with a knee to the head.
Fire is trying to maintain a safe position but Richmond gets an underhook and turns Fire into the cage.

Fire lands a damaging elbow.
Fire lands a body punch in the clinch.
Fire throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Richmond blocks it with crossed arms.

Fire lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Fire throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Richmonds head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Richmond avoiding damage as Fire throws knees to the body.

Richmond tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Fire lands an elbow inside.


It looks like Theo Richmond has been cut.
Fire struggles to land a body shot inside as Richmond controls his hands.

Fire using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Richmond is breathing heavily.
Fire connects with a nasty looking knee right to Richmond's face.
Fire pushes Richmond back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Fire lands a body punch in the clinch.
Fire digs a right hand into Richmond's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Richmond's gas tank.
Fire unloads a knee to the mid-section. Richmond lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Fire throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Richmonds head.
Richmond avoids a wild elbow strike from Fire.
Fire lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Fire lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Richmond backwards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sting Fire dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Theo Richmond's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The fight stays on the outside here - Richmond looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Fire counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Fire counters with a big left hand that crumples Richmond! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!
