Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin McGuire (ranked 5728 p4p, 411 weight class) and Solomon Bundy (ranked 2517 p4p, 248 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bundy moves forwards but McGuire connects with a nice, crisp jab.

It looks like Solomon Bundy has been cut.
Bundy just misses with a punch to the body.
McGuire uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bundy.
McGuire seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Bundy throws a lazy right hand but McGuire sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
McGuire lands a front kick.
McGuire misses with a jab to the body
and Bundy counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bundy scores with a nice right hand.
Bundy scores with a one two! McGuire had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Bundy takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McGuire escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bundy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bundy connects with a nice short shot to McGuire's temple.

Bundy throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Good leg kick by Bundy there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Bundy has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A little jabbing left from Bundy on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Kevin McGuire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bundy throws a jab when McGuire was well out of range.
McGuire tests Bundy's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Bundy works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Bundy has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

McGuire darts in and clinches Bundy up against the cage.
McGuire misses with a short punch on the inside.
A head punch on the inside from McGuire fails to land.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, McGuire creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Bundy pushes McGuire back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

McGuire ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. McGuire no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

McGuire is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Bundy has his hands clasped together but McGuire extends and breaks Bundy's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by McGuire.
