Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jab Buckeye (ranked 3677 p4p, 393 weight class) and Kabala Magaluff (ranked 2879 p4p, 338 weight class). Buckeye's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Right above it lil Wayne . Magaluff has chosen Shalom as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jab Buckeye!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kabala Magaluff!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Magaluff shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Magaluff showed some decent athleticism there.
Buckeye is looking for a sweep. Magaluff is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Magaluff is nestled in close to Buckeye, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Buckeye's coaches at Crapollas Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Buckeye works his way to full guard. Good work.
Magaluff trying to control the position from guard on top but Buckeye is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Magaluff throws a big elbow that misses.
Magaluff cracks Buckeye with a solid left hand.

Magaluff got a little sloppy there for a moment and Buckeye has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Magaluff has managed to get both his arms back between Buckeye's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Buckeye bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Magaluff's guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Buckeye has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Magaluff is still trying to improve position.
Buckeye is in close to Magaluff's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Buckeye throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Magaluff works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Buckeye stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Magaluff swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Buckeye thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Magaluff's head.

Magaluff tries to roll over but Buckeye keeps him under control.
Buckeye takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Magaluff avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Buckeye.
Magaluff wants to improve his position but Buckeye is controlling well.
Buckeye is trying to control the action in half guard but Magaluff is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Buckeye is really struggling to control Magaluff but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Buckeye is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Buckeye passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Magaluff!
Magaluff is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Buckeye breaks from Magaluff's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Magaluff is wriggling around trying to escape.
Buckeye tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Magaluff can do anything to dispel that myth.
Buckeye wants to control the pace but Magaluff is squirming around nicely.
Buckeye lands a heavy elbow.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Magaluff regains half guard.
Buckeye scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Buckeye is trying to control the action in half guard but Magaluff is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jab Buckeye dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Buckeye throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Magaluff's waist but Magaluff gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Buckeye off to one side.
Buckeye takes one on the chin but seems OK.


It looks like Jab Buckeye has been cut.
Magaluff tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Buckeye was well out of range. Poor timing from Magaluff.
Buckeye fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Buckeye tries to close the distance and clinch but Magaluff swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Buckeye darts in looking for a takedown but Magaluff gets double underhooks and turns Buckeye into the ropes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jab Buckeye. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Magaluff takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Buckeye looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Magaluff just misses with a punch to the body.
Magaluff looks to score with a jab to the body but Buckeye is just out of range.

Magaluff throws a lazy right hand but Buckeye sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Buckeye throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Magaluff just misses with a punch to the body.

and Buckeye counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Magaluff scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Buckeye manages to mount him!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Magaluff is trying to stand.
Buckeye fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Magaluff's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Buckeye lands a couple of good shots and Magaluff has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Magaluff can't escape the position.
Magaluff covering up well and avoiding damage.
Magaluff is taking damage to the body and head.
Magaluff covering up well under a barage of strikes.
Magaluff breaks Buckeye's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Buckeye working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Magaluff doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Buckeye is tightening it up a little... Magaluff has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Magaluff reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Magaluff taps out! Nice BJJ there by Buckeye!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Jab Buckeye!
A less than humble Jab Buckeye misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
