Cirelli is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: We Come One. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Seymour Hughes!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anthony Cirelli!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Ben Watson and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cirelli throws a right hand that misses
and Hughes counters with a nice body shot.
Anthony Cirelli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A cross from Cirelli lands.
Good shot there by Hughes.
Cirelli clobbers Hughes with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Hughes swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hughes misses with an uppercut
and Cirelli counters with a straight right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hughes connects with a body shot.
Cirelli moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Hughes lands with a hook. Cirelli tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Hughes dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Cirelli misses with a low kick.
Hughes was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Hughes has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Hughes with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Cirelli to score with a decent uppercut.

Cirelli lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hughes at a distance.
Cirelli slips under a jab from Hughes.
Cirelli scores with a sloppy right hand. Hughes should have avoided that one.

and Cirelli counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Seymour Hughes has been cut.
Cirelli is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hughes had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Cirelli throws a quick inside leg kick.

Hughes moves away from the strike by Cirelli.
Cirelli lands a nice shot to the body.
Cirelli chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Cirelli lands a big right hand that sends Hughes crashing to the mat! Cirelli stays standing though and waves Hughes back to his feet!

Hughes backing away here, and Cirelli unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Cirelli is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Cirelli throws a shot from downtown. Hughes moves away and avoids it.
Hughes throws a lazy uppercut
and Cirelli counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Oh Hughes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cirelli fakes the body blow, causing Hughes to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Hughes goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Anthony Cirelli!
