PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Caspar Milquetoast (ranked 1899 p4p, 238 weight class) and Pauli Johansson (ranked 1488 p4p, 195 weight class). Pauli Johansson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johansson throws a series of punches but Milquetoast moves out of range.

Johansson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Johansson lands in his opponent's guard.

Milquetoast fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johansson manages to avoid it.
Johansson stalks Milquetoast and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Milquetoast's face. Milquetoast staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Caspar Milquetoast has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johansson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Milquetoast lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Johansson tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Milquetoast lands a nice hook to Johansson's body. Johansson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Milquetoast wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Johansson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Milquetoast uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Johansson.
Milquetoast takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Milquetoast misses with a looping left.
Johansson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Milquetoast sprawls well. Milquetoast wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johansson gets slowly back to his feet.
A decent looking cross lands there for Milquetoast.

Milquetoast uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Milquetoast dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Johansson. That did some damage!

Johansson lands with a hook. Milquetoast tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Milquetoast throws a hook to the side of Johansson's head but Johansson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Milquetoast throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A head kick from Milquetoast lands but Johansson takes it in his stride.
Johansson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Milquetoast tries a low kick but Johansson avoids it.
Johansson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Milquetoast as he avoids it easily.

Caspar Milquetoast has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pauli Johansson.

Milquetoast lands a big head kick that sends Johansson tumbling to the mat! Milquetoast takes a step backwards and waves Johansson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

and Milquetoast counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
