Takemura throws a big counter combination but Nurmagomedov scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Khabib Nurmagomedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nurmagomedov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Takemura lands with an overhand left.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Takemura's corner calls for a 1-2. Takemura obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Takemura uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nurmagomedov.
Takemura has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Soul Supremacy Rio in the buildup to the fight.

Nurmagomedov walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Takemura moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

and Takemura counters with a big uppercut that nearly lifts Nurmagomedov off his feet! Nurmagomedov crashes to the mat in all kinds of trouble! The referee starts the count but I'm not sure it's necessary - Nurmagomedov isn't going to make it! The count reaches 10 and this fight is all over! Takemura screams and throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmmm spit, everywhere. Lovely.
