Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Magnus V Karlson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adrian Burnham!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Patrick Alders and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlson takes one to the chin there.


It looks like Magnus V Karlson has been cut.
Karlson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Burnham enables Karlson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Burnham manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Karlson wants to pass the guard but Burnham is keeping the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Burnham can do anything to dispel that myth.
Karlson postures up in Burnham's guard and throws a big left but Burnham blocks it.
Burnham has control of Karlson's left arm, preventing Karlson from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Karlson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Burnham looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Burnham looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Burnham!

Karlson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burnham is staying tight to Karlson's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Karlson is trying to control Burnham's posture but Burnham avoids it.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Burnham postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Burnham content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Karlson gets back to half guard.
Karlson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Burnham really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Karlson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Karlson is trying to control the position but Burnham postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Karlson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Burnham is aware though and is defending well.
Burnham is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Karlson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Burnham's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Well, if Burnham is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Karlson wants to get back to full guard.
Burnham wants to pass the guard but Karlson is defending well.
The fighters are battling for position here. Karlson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Burnham is stalling in the full guard.
Burnham stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Karlson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Karlson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Burnham gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Burnham won't allow Karlson to sweep him here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Burnham is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adrian Burnham dominated that round.

That's time! Karlson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Karlson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Karlson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Karlson shoots in for a double leg but Burnham sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
And Burnham tries to counter it with a takedown but Karlson pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Horrible takedown attempt by Karlson or perhaps it was just good defense by Burnham, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Magnus V Karlson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Karlson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Burnham but Burnham pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Burnham changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Magnus V Karlson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burnham feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Karlson sprawling to the canvas! Karlson rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Burnham finish him?!


Karlson is rocked!


Magnus V Karlson's cut is getting worse.
Adrian Burnham is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Burnham cracks Karlson with a left hook right on the temple and Karlson goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Burnham lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Karlson is OK!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Adrian Burnham!
An out of breath Adrian Burnham thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
