The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morozov swings around for an armbar but Van Wijnbergen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Morozov's guard.
Morozov seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Morozov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Van Wijnbergen defends it easily.

Morozov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Van Wijnbergen is aware though and is defending well.

Morozov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Van Wijnbergen defends well.

Morozov isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Van Wijnbergen stacks Morozov on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Van Wijnbergen!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morozov is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Van Wijnbergen content to control rather than advance.
Let's hope that Van Wijnbergen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Van Wijnbergen cracks Morozov with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Morozov tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Van Wijnbergen pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Morozov is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

During a confident post fight interview, Joels Van Wijnbergen thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
