Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carl Brooks (ranked 1146 p4p, 137 weight class) and Mario Diaz (ranked 1151 p4p, 138 weight class). Brooks's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Eminem - Phenomenal. Diaz has chosen Troublesome '96 - 2pac as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Mario Diaz!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz looks to land a right hand but Brooks moved out of range.
Brooks throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Diaz gets caught flat footed, as Brooks shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Diaz is looking to stand up but Brooks isn't so interested in that idea.

Diaz wriggles free and stands up.
Diaz throws a series of punches but Brooks avoids them all with ease.
Diaz throws a nice looking combination but Brooks bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Brooks closes this distance looking for a takedown but Diaz circles away.
As Brooks backs off Diaz throws a huge counter combo but Brooks manages to avoid it all.
A left and a right from Diaz both land. Nice combination.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Diaz enables Brooks to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Diaz manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Brooks is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brooks shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Diaz as he jumps to the side.
Diaz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Diaz throws a right and a left that Brooks avoids nicely.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Diaz manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Diaz throws a right hand that Brooks ducks under and follows up with a left that Brooks also avoids with ease.

Mario Diaz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
