PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Olyn Seran (ranked 875 p4p, 112 weight class) and Pinero Chai (ranked 1536 p4p, 185 weight class). Seran comes to the cage accompanied by Sound of Silence - Disturbed. The crowd seem to be enjoying Chai's choice of entrance music: Styles P - Off The Ghost. Olyn Seran had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Olyn Seran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Pinero Chai!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chai lands with a shot to the body.
Nice body punch from Chai.
Seran moves to clinch but Chai breaks away
and Chai cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Seran takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.


It looks like Olyn Seran has been cut.
Seran is looking to clinch but Chai is avoiding it.
Seran looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Seran lands a body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chai connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Seran slips under a jab.
A quick step to the side and Seran tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pinero Chai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chai swats away the attempt to clinch by Seran.

Seran slips a straight right by Chai.

Seran takes the fight into the clinch.
Seran can't find room to land a body shot as Chai controls the action.

Seran has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Chai uses from the top position.

Seran has his foot on Chai's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chai works his way back into a safe position though.

Chai must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Seran escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chai gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Seran is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Seran looking for a sweep. Not yet Seran, not yet.
Chai's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Seran throws a poor cross that misses
and Chai counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Chai is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Seran.
A head kick misses from Chai.
Seran was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
A shot to the liver by Chai. Beautiful body shot.

Seran swings widly with a right hand
and Chai counters with a head kick. That will keep Seran thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Chai throws a big shot that misses.
Seran takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Seran tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chai was well out of range. Poor timing from Seran.
Chai lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chai catches Seran with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chai jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pinero Chai dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Olyn Seran's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


A looping hook to the body misses from Seran. Chai does a little dance to reset his feet.
Chai wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Chai keeps the fight on the outside.
Chai throws out a counter right but Seran avoids it with no problem.
Good standup being displayed there by Chai as he connects with a hook.
Seran is looking to clinch.
Seran throws a hook to the side of Chai's head but Chai sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Seran drops his hands momentarily and Chai takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Seran tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Chai manages to circle out of the way.

Pinero Chai seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Seran avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Chai misses with a hook
letting Seran counter with a right hand.
Chai takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Good exchange - Chai coming out on top.

Seran has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Chai finds it's way round the side to connect with Seran's head.
A combination from Chai does no damage.
Seran misses with a wild body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

It looked like Seran wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Seran tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chai swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Chai gets tackled into the cage by Seran. Seran maintains the clinch.

Chai pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Seran tries to clinch up.
Chai has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Seran takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Seran walks into a straight right hand from Chai.
Chai digs a good hook to Seran's body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Chai.
Chai scores with the left hand. Seran knows he should have avoided that one.

A little feinted left hand from Seran on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Chai throws a body punch but Seran moves out of range.
It looked like Seran was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Chai.
Seran dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Chai slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chai throws the left hand but Seran avoids the punch easily.

Chai dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Donk. Seran catches Chai right on the button with a cross.

Pinero Chai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


Seran swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Chai.
The fighters circle momentarily. Chai darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Seran avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A counter left hand to the body from Seran misses its target.
Chai throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Seran darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Seran moves into the clinch successfully.

Seran fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Chai tries to throw a body punch but Seran avoids it by throwing Chai back against the cage.
Chai lands with a light punch inside.
Chai lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Seran fails to pull guard.
Chai presses Seran against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Chai misses with a punch to the body.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Chai.
Chai fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Chai tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Seran jumps guard and drags Chai to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Seran is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Seran manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chai manages to get himself to full guard.

Olyn Seran has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Seran drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Chai manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Seran has Chai in his guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Seran wants to sweep here but Chai controlling him for the moment.

Chai got a little sloppy there for a moment and Seran has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chai has managed to get both his arms back between Seran's legs - danger averted.

Chai avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chai would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Seran throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Chai counters with a straight right hand.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Pinero Chai.
I've got Chai winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
