Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Iivari Alamaa (ranked 2387 p4p, 286 weight class) and Wolfgang Brandstatter (ranked 2371 p4p, 285 weight class). Alamaa comes to the cage accompanied by Sääntö - Paska valtio. Brandstatter comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Requiem in D minor kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Wolfgang Brandstatter told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alamaa misses with a head kick.
Brandstatter tries to counter by closing the distance.
Brandstatter avoids the head kick by Alamaa.
Alamaa throws a leg kick but Brandstatter sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Brandstatter has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Alamaa is landing a low percentage of strikes.

and Brandstatter counters with an outside leg kick.

and Brandstatter makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Brandstatter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Alamaa throws out the jab.
Brandstatter smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alamaa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brandstatter cracks Alamaa with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Brandstatter has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Alamaa to stand back up!
Alamaa is rocked!
It looks like Iivari Alamaa has been cut.

and Brandstatter counters with a solid body kick.
Oh Alamaa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Brandstatter grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Alamaa takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Brandstatter cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Wolfgang Brandstatter!
A relieved looking Wolfgang Brandstatter thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
