The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irwin throws the left hand but La De Hoya avoids the punch easily.
La De Hoya misses with a body kick.
La De Hoya connects with an inside leg kick.
La De Hoya misses with a double jab.
Irwin blocks a low kick nicely.
La De Hoya scores with a hook to the body. Irwin takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
La De Hoya scores with a head kick. Irwin tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

It looks like Ethan Irwin has been cut.
Irwin turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Irwin connects with a good right hand that stumbles La De Hoya. La De Hoya circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
La De Hoya misses with a few strikes there.
A little jabbing left from Irwin on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
A punch combination from La De Hoya misses.

letting Irwin counter with a right hand.
La De Hoya throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Irwin takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

A lazy left from La De Hoya finds it's target.
Irwin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
La De Hoya keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Irwin drops his guard momentarily, allowing La De Hoya to crack him with a picture perfect lead left hook! Boom! Down goes Irwin! Oh, he's in big trouble - I don't like his chances here as the referee's count reaches 5. 6,7,8,9...10! He's out! La De Hoya takes it!
