Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Samir Mourani (ranked 2973 p4p, 351 weight class) and Kelien Brisco (ranked 7346 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Samir Mourani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kelien Brisco!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Steve Montenegro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mourani shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brisco is trying to defend but Mourani finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Brisco tries to roll over but Mourani keeps him under control.
Mourani stalling.
Mourani seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Brisco for as long as he can get away with.
Mourani lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mourani looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Mourani controlling the pace.
Mourani has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've been hearing that Mourani has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mourani is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Brisco keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brisco tries to clinch but Mourani is having none of it.
Mourani rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brisco moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mourani sets himself, and Brisco steps forward looking for the clinch! Mourani avoids it this time.
Brisco just misses with a punch to the body.
Mourani swats away the attempt to clinch by Brisco.

Mourani shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Brisco's guard.
Mourani pushes down on Brisco's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Mourani is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Mourani drops an elbow to the side of Brisco's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mourani takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Mourani working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Mourani controlling the action here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Brisco wants to improve his position but Mourani is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Brisco moves in looking to clinch but Mourani pushes him off.
Kelien Brisco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mourani avoids the body shot from Brisco.
Mourani drops down looking for a counter takedown but Brisco sprawls and moves away.
Brisco takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Mourani steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Brisco.
Brisco tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mourani manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mourani tries to counter with a takedown but Brisco is quick to defend against it.

Mourani gets tackled into the cage by Brisco. Brisco maintains the clinch.
Mourani is trying to break the clinch but Brisco has him pressed against the cage.

Brisco has Mourani pressed against the cage, preventing Mourani from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A nice right hand lands inside from Brisco.
Brisco misses with a punch to the body.
Brisco gets through Mourani's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brisco struggles to land a body shot inside as Mourani controls his hands.
Brisco lands a nice shot to the body.
Brisco lands a hook to the side of the head.
Brisco misses with some punches.
Mourani looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A nice right hand lands inside from Brisco.

Mourani can't break the clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Brisco.
A short uppercut from Brisco.
Still in the clinch, Brisco scores with a nice short uppercut.
Mourani wants to break the clinch but can't.
Brisco lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mourani backwards.
Mourani misses with some punches.

Brisco breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brisco scores with a sloppy right hand. Mourani should have avoided that one.
Mourani thuds a left hand into Brisco's body.
Brisco doesn't manage to clinch there - Mourani circles away.
Mourani connects with a body shot that sends Brisco's belly button to the back.

Mourani gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mourani on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mourani tries to get out of the position.

Brisco might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mourani haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Brisco is looking to clinch but Mourani is avoiding it.
Mourani half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Mourani ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brisco moves away.
Brisco blocks a jab.
Mourani shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Brisco eats them both and turns towards Mourani to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Kelien Brisco is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mourani throws a looping overhand right but Brisco ducks down to avoid it.
Mourani fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Brisco lands a left and a right that send Mourani crashing to the mat, dazed. Brisco thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Mourani is rocked!


It looks like Samir Mourani has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brisco ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Mourani's jaw. Mourani's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Brisco does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kelien Brisco!
