Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kuuri Sando!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tashiro Sugawara!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sugawara gets tackled into the cage by Sando. Sando maintains the clinch.
Sando tries a knee to the head but Sugawara blocks it.
Our sources have told us that Sando has been working on his elbows in the gym.
Sando throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Sugawara wants the takedown. Sando is fighting it off but Sugawara persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Sando's guard against the cage.
Sando keeping moving, preventing Sugawara from controlling successfully.
Sugawara won't allow Sando to sweep him here.

Sugawara thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sugawara wants to control from the top but Sando keeps moving.
Sando can't keep his opponent in guard - Sugawara advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sugawara is keen to just control but Sando is a slippery customer.
Sugawara takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Sugawara is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Sugawara seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sando does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
