Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hughie McFee (ranked 7999 p4p, 555 weight class) and Trey DeVell (ranked 7773 p4p, 547 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trey DeVell!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeVell moves out of range of the strikes.
It seemed like DeVell was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
McFee throws a body punch but DeVell moves out of range.

We've been told by McFee's head coaches at Deep waters that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Hughie McFee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McFee bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps DeVell's head backwards.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from DeVell! But no joy.

McFee lands a nice shot to the body.
DeVell might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McFee has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from DeVell finds it's way round the side to connect with McFee's head.
DeVell throws a jab but it's blocked by McFee.

DeVell keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McFee ducks under a wild hook from DeVell.
McFee gets cracked there but stands up to it.

DeVell walks straight into a right hand from McFee - that's dropped him! McFee jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save DeVell from any more punishment! DeVell complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
