Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jean Paul Garcon (ranked 644 p4p, 83 weight class) and Daniel Dimitrov (ranked 1385 p4p, 163 weight class). Dimitrov has chosen Drake - Energy as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Daniel Dimitrov will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcon throws a body kick that misses.
It seemed like Dimitrov was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

and Dimitrov counters with a straight right hand.
Dimitrov walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
It looks like Daniel Dimitrov has been cut.
Garcon connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Garcon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Garcon lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Dimitrov has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Dimitrov and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Dimitrov chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Garcon can pounce on him.

Dimitrov appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

and Dimitrov counters with a nice body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dimitrov feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Garcon sprawling to the canvas! Garcon rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Dimitrov finish him?!

Garcon throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Dimitrov looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Garcon bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Dimitrov drops Garcon with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Garcon looks back up at him and smiles so Dimitrov waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dimitrov creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Daniel Dimitrov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
