These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arthur Menezes!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menezes scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

McStafferson moves away from the strike by Menezes.

McStafferson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Menezes is trying to control the action in half guard but McStafferson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Menezes is trying to work for a kimura but McStafferson is defending well.
McStafferson wants to sweep but Menezes has passed to side control!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Menezes wants to lay and pray for a moment but McStafferson keeps working.

McStafferson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

He waited for his chance and took it!
