Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bismack Kagonbo (ranked 372 p4p, 58 weight class) and Scott John (ranked 781 p4p, 99 weight class). Kagonbo comes to the cage accompanied by Voodoo. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kagonbo throws an ugly left hook that misses
and John counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Bismack Kagonbo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kagonbo misses with an uppercut
and John counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kagonbo throws a hook but John blocks it.
A little jabbing left from John on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Kagonbo gets tackled into the cage by John. John maintains the clinch.
Kagonbo has had enough of the clinch but John keeps him there for the moment.
Kagonbo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

John walks forward, straight into a front kick from Kagonbo.

John swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

John steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kagonbo.

Kagonbo moves forwards but John connects with a nice, crisp jab.

John struggles to land a body shot inside as Kagonbo controls his hands.

Kagonbo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
John lands a nice looking body shot.
Kagonbo throws a low kick but John moves out of range easily.
John connects with an inside leg kick.
Kagonbo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from John.
Kagonbo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kagonbo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

John closes the distance and clinches.

and John makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kagonbo really felt that one!

John might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

John tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kagonbo paws at him with a jab and circles away.

John lands a good knee to the midsection. Kagonbo won't want to take too many of those.
Kagonbo is breathing heavily.
With the fighters up against the cage, John throws an elbow but misses.

John keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kagonbo's efforts to push away.

A close round but Scott John will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kagonbo throws a body punch but John moves out of range.
Good leg kick by John there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Kagonbo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and John has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

John closes the distance and clinches.
John tries to land a knee to the head but Kagonbo blocks with his arms.
John lands a right hand.
Kagonbo tries to circle away but John has him pinned against the cage.
Kagonbo is looking to break free of the clinch but John has double underhooks.
John scores with a shot to the side of Kagonbo's head.
A short body shot lands from John as the two fighters clinch.
Nice body punch from John - that landed with a thud.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

John creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Kagonbo's defenses.
John digs a right hand underneath Kagonbo's ribcage. Kagonbo let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Kagonbo clobbers John with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

John lands a head kick. Kagonbo smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
John steps in with a hook that catches Kagonbo right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! John follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Kagonbo looks absolutely devastated.
