The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kauranen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Wallace takes a swing at Kauranen's ribcage but misses.
Wallace jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kauranen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wallace.
Kauranen shoots for a double leg takedown but Wallace sprawls well. He's pushed Kauranen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kauranen tries to clinch up.
Wallace swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Kauranen misses with a wild body shot.
Wallace tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kauranen was well out of range. Poor timing from Wallace.
Wallace gets caught napping as Kauranen dives in and scores a takedown. Wallace manages to retain guard.
Kauranen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wallace is keeping the position for now.
Kauranen trying to control the position from guard on top but Wallace is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kauranen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wallace is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Kauranen passes Wallace's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Wallace wants to control but Kauranen is keeping busy.
Kauranen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kauranen wants to work for an arm triangle but Wallace is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kauranen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wallace has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kauranen is keen to just control but Wallace is a slippery customer.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wallace can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kauranen wants to pass to mount but Wallace is defending the position.

Kauranen is working for a kimura but Wallace is defending it quite comfortably.
Kauranen seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kauranen passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Wallace!
Kauranen is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Kauranen!
