Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Calixto Cardona (ranked 966 p4p, 115 weight class) and Damen Mayer (ranked 2247 p4p, 241 weight class). Calixto Cardona could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Damen Mayer's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Calixto Cardona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
21 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Damen Mayer!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Chris Dean and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cardona thows a leg kick but Mayer checks it
and Mayer counters with a shoot takedown. Cardona fights it but they end up in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mayer stopping the sweep attempt from Cardona.
Mayer stands up over Cardona, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Cardona can't keep his opponent in guard - Mayer advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Cardona is trying to stand back up but Mayer is controlling him
Mayer works his way into full mount!
Mayer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cardona is looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cardona holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Mayer tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cardona is trying to escape the mount.
Cardona wants to get back to his feet.
Cardona taking shots to the head.
Mayer tries to control but Cardona wriggling away.
Mayer looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Mayer trying to control but Cardona is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cardona keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mayer controlling his opponent.
Cardona tries to lock up and control but Mayer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Cardona tries to improve his position but Mayer has taken his back! Mayer has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Cardona tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Mayer pushes Cardona away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
