Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mateusz Biernat (ranked 1126 p4p, 140 weight class) and Mordecai Sackett (ranked 1421 p4p, 171 weight class). Biernat comes to the cage accompanied by Someday. Mordecai Sackett has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 1, fighting out of London, Mateusz Biernat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 45 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mordecai Sackett!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Damien Edna and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sackett leaves Biernat with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sackett let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Biernat drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Sackett thumps Biernat with a low kick.
Biernat moves out of range of the body kick.
Mordecai Sackett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Biernat shoots in for a takedown but Sackett shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Biernat's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sackett connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Biernat scrambles back to his feet.
Sackett tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Biernat is able to avoid easily.
Sackett lands a lovely overhand right.
Biernat shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sackett sprawls well. Sackett wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Biernat gets slowly back to his feet.

The fighters circle momentarily. Sackett darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Oh Biernat is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sackett cracks Biernat with a good jab.

Sackett scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Biernat doesn't seem bothered though.

Biernat chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sackett can pounce on him.
Biernat has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sackett.

Sackett throws a nice outside leg kick.
Biernat shoots in looking for a takedown. Sackett tries to sprawl out of it but Biernat keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sackett manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Sackett.
Biernat seems to have got his legs back now.
Biernat drops his hands momentarily and Sackett takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Biernat bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Sackett throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Biernat tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sackett defends well and Biernat ends up having to push Sackett into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Biernat closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Sackett pushes Biernat off and gets back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sackett is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Biernat is controlling him.
Sackett has his hands on Biernat's head, controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sackett is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Sackett bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Biernat's guard.

Biernat seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Sackett lands a couple of elbows.
Sackett wants to pass the guard but Biernat is keeping the position.

Biernat has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sackett can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Biernat is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sackett is aware though and is defending well.

Biernat is looking for a triangle but Sackett pushes his legs off easily.

Biernat looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Sackett cracks Biernat with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Biernat tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Sackett pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Biernat is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mordecai Sackett!
Mordecai Sackett decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
