The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz Jr pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ringnes tries to clinch but Cruz Jr is having none of it.
It looked like Cruz Jr was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Ringnes takes the fight into the clinch.
Ringnes lands a left hand that snaps the head of Cruz Jr backwards.
Cruz Jr is trying to force a seperation but Ringnes has the dominant position.
We've been informed that Ringnes has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Cruz Jr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ringnes misses with a two punch combination.
Ringnes throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Ringnes instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ringnes swings wildly with an uppercut but Cruz Jr uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cruz Jr wants to get back to striking at distance but Ringnes won't allow it.
Ringnes tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Cruz Jr avoids it.

Cruz Jr breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Cruz Jr scores with the left hand. Ringnes knows he should have avoided that one.
Ringnes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cruz Jr swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ringnes lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ringnes moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Ringnes misses with an uppercut
and Cruz Jr counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Arild Ringnes has been cut.
Ringnes stuns Cruz Jr with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Cruz Jr's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Cruz Jr is trying to push Ringnes away but Ringnes has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
A frustrated look appears on Cruz Jr's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Ringnes misses with the head strike.

Ringnes lands an uppercut.
Ringnes misses with a hook from the clinch.
Cruz Jr wants to get back to striking at distance but Ringnes won't allow it.
Cruz Jr wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Ringnes scores with a crisp jab that stopped Cruz Jr in his tracks.
Ringnes wants to clinch up but Cruz Jr keeps it at a distance.
It looked like Cruz Jr wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Cruz Jr throws a sloppy head kick and Ringnes moves out of range easily.

Ringnes clinches up with Cruz Jr and pushes him back against the cage.
Ringnes fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Cruz Jr lands with a light punch inside.
Ringnes scores with a shot to the side of Cruz Jr's head.

Cruz Jr's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ringnes darts in trying to clinch
and Cruz Jr counters with a nice body kick.

Cruz Jr avoids the body shot from Ringnes .
Ringnes 's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Cruz Jr connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ringnes scrambles back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ringnes moves into range and clinches up with Cruz Jr.
Ringnes prevents Cruz Jr from breaking the clinch.

Cruz Jr pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cruz Jr lands with an uppercut that bounces Ringnes off the cage and back into range.
Cruz Jr walks into a left hand.
We've been told by Cruz Jr's head coaches at Big Bear Fight Factory that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Cruz Jr on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Cruz Jr scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Arild Ringnes will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Arild Ringnes 's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


A jab from Ringnes misses.
Ringnes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cruz Jr paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cruz Jr looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Cruz Jr lands a big right hand that sends Ringnes crashing to the mat! Cruz Jr stays standing though and waves Ringnes back to his feet!
Ringnes is holding his hands too far apart here. Cruz Jr throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Ringnes is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jorge Cruz Jr!
Jorge Cruz Jr decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
