PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Gehard (ranked 4237 p4p, 405 weight class) and Conman Mcnugget (ranked 3626 p4p, 361 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gehard might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Scooter - Nessaja. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Conman Mcnugget!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Mcnugget. Those never looked like landing.
Gehard swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Conman Mcnugget seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gehard shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Mcnugget is trying to get back to full guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gehard lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcnugget is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gehard scores with a couple of nice shots.
Gehard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gehard is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Mcnugget is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gehard is thwarting Mcnugget's attempts to control the position.

Gehard lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Ground and pound from Gehard.
Gehard seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Mcnugget on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Gehard takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Mcnugget is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gehard scores with a couple of nice shots.
Mcnugget is still in real trouble! Can Gehard finish him?

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gehard looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mcnugget with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Gehard lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Mcnugget quite badly. Mcnugget pulls Gehard in close trying to recover. Gehard postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Mcnugget on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Mcnugget doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
