Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Kotkaniemi (ranked 1279 p4p, 1976 weight class) and Joshua Pryce (ranked 189 p4p, 272 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joshua Pryce!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.





The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pryce cracks Kotkaniemi with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Kotkaniemi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pryce can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pryce really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kotkaniemi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pryce fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kotkaniemi shoots in for a takedown but Pryce shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Pryce throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kotkaniemi.
Pryce stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pryce wants it to stay on the feet.
Kotkaniemi shoots in and drives through. Pryce sprawls well.
Kotkaniemi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pryce feints the counter takedown.
Joshua Pryce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kotkaniemi shoots in but no luck this time.
Pryce pounces like a tiger and cracks Kotkaniemi with a vicious hook! Kotkaniemi is down but not out! Pryce follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
