Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buakaw Banchamek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Ralphie Maldonado!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maldonado misses with a body shot
and Banchamek counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Banchamek looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Maldonado connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Banchamek takes a swing at Maldonado's ribcage but misses.
Banchamek connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Maldonado throws a right hand that misses
and Maldonado takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Maldonado misses with a straight right.
Maldonado lands with a right hand.

Banchamek is rocked!
Maldonado rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Banchamek counters with a nice body kick.
Oh Banchamek is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Banchamek takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Banchamek seems to have got his legs back now.
Ralphie Maldonado seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maldonado cracks Banchamek with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Maldonado has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Banchamek to stand back up!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Banchamek avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Maldonado takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Maldonado walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Banchamek slips under a jab.
Banchamek jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Banchamek goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Maldonado cracks Banchamek with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Banchamek tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Maldonado pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Banchamek is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ralphie Maldonado!
Ralphie Maldonado spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
