Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marty Snoozeman (ranked 4557 p4p, 4167 weight class) and Peter Smart (ranked 531 p4p, 493 weight class). Snoozeman comes to the cage accompanied by Nebraska - Bruce Springsteen. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Marty Snoozeman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Smart!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smart shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Smart staying out of range there.
Smart moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Peter Smart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smart keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Snoozeman.
A telegraphed right hand from Smart misses the target.
Smart misses with a wild body shot.
Snoozeman walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Snoozeman shoots in and gets a takedown into Smart's guard.

Smart is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Smart really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Snoozeman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Smart wants to hit a sweep here but Snoozeman passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Smart there!
Smart is bucking up trying to escape but Snoozeman cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Snoozeman is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Smart is surviving well by controlling Snoozeman's body position as best he can.
Snoozeman tries to control but Smart wriggling away.

Smart tries to reverse the position but Snoozeman maintains control.

Snoozeman controlling the pace for now.
Smart sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Snoozeman is trying to work for a kimura but Smart is defending well.
Smart is trying to get back to full guard.
Smart trying to control from the bottom.
Smart is not content to let Snoozeman control the position.
Smart wants to improve his position but Snoozeman is controlling well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smart is refusing to be controlled, as Snoozeman sits in half guard.
Snoozeman is really struggling to control Smart but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Snoozeman has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We've been hearing good reports from Snoozeman's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Smart felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Snoozeman is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Smart can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Marty Snoozeman dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Smart closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Snoozeman's guard.

Snoozeman has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Smart should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Snoozeman has tightened it up now! Smart should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Marty Snoozeman!
