Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jose Carvaleho (ranked 634 p4p, 1352 weight class) and Olyn Seran (ranked 77 p4p, 157 weight class). Seran has chosen Sound of Silence - Disturbed as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

and Seran makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Carvaleho uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Seran.
Seran swings for the body but Carvaleho moves out of range.

and Seran counters with a stiff right hand.
Seran throws the left hand but Carvaleho avoids the punch easily.

Seran uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Carvaleho ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Seran moves away.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Carvaleho bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Carvaleho changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Seran uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Carvaleho.

Carvaleho is trying to drag Seran to the mat but Seran just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Carvaleho breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Seran is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Seran is not content to let Carvaleho control the position.

Carvaleho is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Seran knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Olyn Seran showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Seran is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Carvaleho rolls with it to try and escape but Seran cranks on the arm and Carvaleho is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
