PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danny Wyadd (ranked 1929 p4p, 3111 weight class) and Cliff Rigano (ranked 265 p4p, 395 weight class). Cliff Rigano told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Wyadd closes the distance and clinches.
Wyadd is pressed up against the cage. Rigano has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wyadd down to the mat. Wyadd avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Wyadd makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rigano has his foot on Wyadd's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wyadd works his way back into a safe position though.

Rigano looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Wyadd has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wyadd trying to control the position from guard on top but Rigano is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Wyadd is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Wyadd looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Wyadd seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rigano does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Wyadd has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Rigano to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Wyadd is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Rigano pulls down on the head and he's put Wyadd to sleep! This one is all over!
