Heavyweight throws out a loose jab but Fortier uses good head movement to avoid it.
Heavyweight displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fortier throws out the jab.
Heavyweight tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Fortier manages to circle out of the way.

Fortier throws a leg kick which misses Heavyweight's front leg but catches the back leg as Heavyweight tries to avoid it.

Heavyweight chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Fortier can pounce on him.

Heavyweight lunges at Fortier with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Fortier's hand.
Fortier lands the left hand.
Heavyweight shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Heavyweight looks to land a left hand but Fortier moved out of range nicely.
Heavyweight takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Fortier bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Heavyweight's head backwards.

Heavyweight is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Fortier.
Super Heavyweight's cut is getting worse.
A combination from Fortier does no damage.
A shot to the body from Fortier misses
and Heavyweight counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Fortier lands a head shot.
Super Heavyweight's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
A big right from Fortier misses.
Fortier moves out of range of the strikes.
Heavyweight throws a jab when Fortier was well out of range.
Fortier throws a wild body kick that Heavyweight sees coming a mile off.
Fortier takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Heavyweight is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Fortier bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Heavyweight's head.
Heavyweight drops his hands momentarily and Fortier takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Fortier misses with an attempted mid kick.
Fortier lands a jab to the head.
Jeez, Super Heavyweight's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
A bone on bone clash there as Heavyweight blocks the leg kick.
Fortier blocks a jab.
Heavyweight swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Fortier avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Heavyweight lands with a nice body punch.
Heavyweight lands a left and a right that send Fortier crashing to the mat, dazed. Heavyweight thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Fortier is rocked!
Fortier is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Heavyweight had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fortier is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Heavyweight doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Fortier crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Fortier's bad books for that mishap!
