Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Xain Zhao (ranked 1525 p4p, 2614 weight class) and Buster Bidwell (ranked 211 p4p, 346 weight class). Zhao comes into the arena with I love Friday blaring out of the sound system. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Buster Bidwell!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.

Zhao shoots for a double leg takedown but Bidwell sprawls well. He's pushed Zhao's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Zhao definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Zhao moves in looking to clinch but Bidwell pushes him off.
Bidwell looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Bidwell throws a nice looking combination but Zhao bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Zhao is looking to counter punch.
Bidwell's jab looks to have found its range, popping Zhao under the eye.
Bidwell getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

and Bidwell counters with a straight right hand.
Bidwell with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Bidwell throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Bidwell lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Bidwell connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Zhao momentarily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zhao takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Zhao.
Zhao shoots in for a double leg but Bidwell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xain Zhao. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bidwell scores with a one two! Zhao had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Buster Bidwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bidwell paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Bidwell sizes up Zhao with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Bidwell lands a slapping body shot.
Bidwell misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Zhao throwing a counter right hand but Bidwell manages to avoid it.
Bidwell cracks Zhao with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
The crowd cheers as Bidwell lands an impressive looking overhand right. Zhao doesn't seem phased though.
Bidwell lands a right hook to the body.
Bidwell throws a right hand that Zhao ducks under and follows up with a left that Zhao also avoids with ease.
Zhao swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Bidwell connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Zhao's hands.
Zhao takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Bidwell uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Bidwell tests Zhao's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Zhao forces Bidwell back against the cage and clinches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zhao successfully pulls guard.
Zhao is looking to cinch up a triangle. Bidwell throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Zhao's body to avoid the submission. Zhao has instead reached around Bidwell's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Zhao arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Xain Zhao!
Xain Zhao very nearly forgot to thank Sweet Leaf Supplements amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
