PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damien Hawthorne (ranked 969 p4p, 1123 weight class) and Jan Sobieski (ranked 136 p4p, 158 weight class). Hawthorne comes into the arena with Schism by Tool blaring out of the sound system. Sobieski has chosen Karnivool - Lifelike as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hawthorne lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sobieski has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sobieski and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Hawthorne connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Sobieski shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hawthorne pinned against the cage. Hawthorne gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hawthorne enables Sobieski to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hawthorne manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Sobieski wants to pass the guard but Hawthorne is keeping the position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hawthorne holds on and takes a little breather.

Sobieski closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The defeated Damien Hawthorne had this to say: 'Starting today I am announcing my retirement, it's been a journey but it appears this wasn't meant to be. -wipes a tear from his eye-'.
