Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nori Tajima (ranked 6428 p4p, 3860 weight class) and Chief Walker (ranked 628 p4p, 496 weight class). Nori Tajima has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nori Tajima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Walker!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.

Tajima throws a body kick that misses
and Walker counters with a lovely straight right hand!

It looks like Nori Tajima has been cut.

Tajima closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Walker is trying to work for a sweep but Tajima has mounted him!

Tajima lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Walker told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Walker is in a bad position with Tajima working for a choke. Walker manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.

Tajima manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Walker manages to get himself to full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tajima tries to stand and escape but Walker is controlling the position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Tajima moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Walker.

Walker tries to bench press Tajima off him but Tajima keeps the position.
Walker parries the strikes from Tajima easily there. Tajima is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Walker to escape.

Tajima is trying to get an arm triangle but Walker is defending well.
Tajima wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walker keeps working.
Walker is looking for a sweep.

Tajima wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Walker, who protects the arm well.
Walker manages to work his way to half guard, despite Tajima's best efforts.

Tajima is stalling here. Walker is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Tajima seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Walker has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Walker winds up and cracks Tajima with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Walker looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Tajima is looking for a sweep. Walker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Walker looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tajima with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Tajima is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Walker scores with a couple of nice shots.
This has been an exciting period of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Nori Tajima will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Nori Tajima's cut is getting worse.
Tajima fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Walker takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Walker counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Tajima misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nori Tajima. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Walker counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Tajima!

Walker scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Oh Tajima is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Walker working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Walker scores with a big shot! Tajima's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Tajima! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chief Walker!
