Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derek Erwin (ranked 1063 p4p, 2043 weight class) and Bobby Brawler (ranked 164 p4p, 279 weight class). Derek Erwin has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Derek Erwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bobby Brawler!

Erwin slips under a jab from Brawler.
Erwin drops down looking for a counter takedown but Brawler sprawls and moves away.
Erwin goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Brawler takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Brawler with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Erwin to score with a decent uppercut.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brawler shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Erwin misses with a hook.
Brawler wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Erwin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brawler tries to avoid it but Erwin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brawler to the ground. Brawler escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Erwin moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Erwin shoots in looking for a takedown. Brawler tries to sprawl out of it but Erwin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brawler manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Derek Erwin will probably get the nod.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brawler lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Erwin comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Brawler throws a looping overhand right but Erwin ducks down to avoid it.

A punch lands to the side of Erwin 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Erwin has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Brawler.
Erwin moves out of range of the leg kick from Brawler.
A jab from Brawler finds it's way through Erwin's defenses.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Brawler! But no joy.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Brawler is doing well to control the position and prevent Erwin from advancing to side control.
Erwin tries to pass to full mount but Brawler defends it.
Erwin wants to work for an arm triangle but Brawler is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Brawler's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Erwin connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Brawler scrambles back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Brawler controls Erwin momentarily but Erwin frees himself.
Brawler wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Brawler can't keep his opponent in guard - Erwin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Erwin is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Erwin is pressing down on Brawler's thigh, looking to free his foot. Brawler is holding on for now.

Erwin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brawler is just riding it out for now. Erwin eventually gives up the hold.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
