Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Peterson (ranked 216 p4p, 199 weight class) and Tank Ispa (ranked 36 p4p, 30 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Tank Ispa!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.

Ispa is trying to trip Peterson. He has hold of a leg but Peterson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Ispa persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Ispa has his foot on Peterson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Peterson works his way back into a safe position though.

Ispa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Peterson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Peterson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ispa postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Peterson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ispa, into his guard.

Peterson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Ispa is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Peterson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Peterson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Ispa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peterson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Peterson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Tank Ispa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Ispa felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
