Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Naoko Marui (ranked 1223 p4p, 2054 weight class) and Buddy Taylor (ranked 149 p4p, 237 weight class). Taylor has chosen Bad Reputation as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

Marui swings for the body but Taylor moves out of range.
Taylor takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Marui misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Taylor.
Taylor looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Marui misses with an uppercut
and Taylor counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Naoko Marui has been cut.
Marui thuds a left hand into Taylor's body.
Taylor walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Marui misses with a looping left.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Taylor! But no joy.
Taylor throws the left hand but Marui avoids the punch easily.
Marui appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Marui throws a body shot but no joy.
Taylor throws a counter combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marui throws a shot from downtown. Taylor moves away and avoids it.
Marui throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Marui takes a swing at Taylor's ribcage but misses.
Marui connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Taylor momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marui feints a jab promting Taylor to slip. Marui then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Taylor slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Marui has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Taylor finds it's way round the side to connect with Marui's head.
Marui misses with a right hand
and Taylor counters with a nice uppercut.

Marui is rocked!
Taylor turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Oh Marui is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Marui throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Taylor crashing down! Taylor tries to stagger back to his feet but Marui just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Taylor asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Naoko Marui!
In his post fight interview, Naoko Marui started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
Buddy Taylor was interviewed post fight and said 'I'll be back ..stronger '.
