PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Melek Taus (ranked 57 p4p, 67 weight class) and Andy Bangsit (ranked 11 p4p, 14 weight class). Taus comes to the cage accompanied by I Am The Upsetter. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Melek Taus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 23 - 2, fighting out of London, Andy Bangsit!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.

Bangsit fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Taus is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Bangsit closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Taus's guard.

Taus is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at The Wild Beasts Zoo that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Melek Taus will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Bangsit closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Taus has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Bangsit is on him like a limpet, forcing Taus back against the cage.
Taus tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bangsit's elbow.
Bangsit changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Taus fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Bangsit shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Taus sprawls well. Taus wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bangsit gets slowly back to his feet.

and Bangsit decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Taus's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Taus manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Bangsit has his foot on Taus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Taus works his way back into a safe position though.

Taus stands up and beckons Bangsit to his feet.
Bangsit tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Taus defends well and Bangsit ends up having to push Taus into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Bangsit creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Taus sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Taus is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.

Taus is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bangsit can do to turn this around?

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Taus is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bangsit's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Taus works his way to full guard. Good work.

Bangsit is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Taus is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Taus has escaped and now he's on top!

Andy Bangsit has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Taus's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Melek Taus showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Taus has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
