Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sasha Beliy (ranked 375 p4p, 371 weight class) and Valerio Bartoli (ranked 41 p4p, 40 weight class). Beliy's entrance music is Havana. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Bartoli's choice of entrance music: Modulate - Bass Alert. Valerio Bartoli told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

It seemed like Bartoli was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Beliy takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Beliy lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bartoli throws out a loose jab but Beliy uses good head movement to avoid it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bartoli fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Beliy.

Bartoli throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Beliy sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Beliy gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A nice inside leg kick there by Bartoli. That's going to slow Beliy down.

Beliy has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Bartoli sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Bartoli dips to his left and cracks Beliy with an uppercut!
Beliy gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Bartoli gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Beliy is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

An out of breath Valerio Bartoli thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Sasha Beliy spoke after the fight, saying 'Its tough to beat a Stepdad!'.
