Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Richard Stone (ranked 1413 p4p, 6199 weight class) and Ciro Bottini (ranked 183 p4p, 604 weight class). Bottini is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Proteus - Stravaganza. Richard Stone has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Bottini fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Stone to the ground. Bottini is now in Stone's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bottini wants to control from the top but Stone keeps moving.

Stone is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Bottini looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Bottini feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Stone knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bottini on the ground.

Stone wants to improve his position but instead Bottini has moved into half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bottini uses his free foot to push down on Stone's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Stone.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Bottini closes the distance and clinches up with Stone, looking for a takedown. Bottini pushes Stone against the cage but Stone circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
It looked like Stone wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Bottini shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bottini was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The referee asks Bottini politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bottini prefers to stall for the moment though.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bottini cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
